The Kendra Granville Experience
As a mom, how am I going to have my children and tell them, ‘reach for the stars and follow your
dreams,’ if I too wasn’t doing the same thing?

 - Kendra Granville

Kendra Granville is a Neo-Soul Reggae Singer/Songwriter and Artist popularly known as “THE KENDRA GRANVILLE EXPERIENCE” and she is a dedicated Mother who has a distinct and ever-developing talent and soul that will touch anyone in her presence!! Born in Brooklyn, New York, Kendra developed her passion and love for music as a young child with the influence of her father, a local Reggae artist.

Currently The Kendra Granville Experience is blazing stages everywhere, as a rediscovered woman and mother, having already produced a debut album entitled, “Patience Of A Woman 2” and in the lab now to release her next! Kendra continues to inspire others who daily share their testimonials with her! Her music is a true and unfiltered expression of her soul that she hopes will spread the carefree, free-spirited inspiration that she experienced through her love of Reggae music as a little girl into the woman she is today!

Kendra has gained continued recognition at venues in New York that include the World-famous Nuyorican Poets Cafe, Club Iguana’s, Café Wha, Bowery Poetry Club, Platinum Lounge, Soul Café and Brooklyn College. Kendra released her debut album, “Patience of a Woman,” and her first music video, “Violating Me” which earned further recognition and awards which led to the opportunity to open for the well-known artist, Morgan Heritage.

She recalls feeling happy, carefree, and free spirited as a child due to the soulful, joyful and spiritual vibes and messages of Reggae music that constantly played at home. Kendra started her musical career early by writing and performing her first song, “What’s Going On?” at the age of only eight years old. Kendra soon became known as the lead singer in Bushwick High School with an R&B/ Hip-Hop group called ‘718’ and other school talent shows.

Kendra’s proudly proclaims “Music is important to me, music is my life.” However, Kendra experienced a spiritual transformation after realizing she was chasing an American dream of trying to get into the music industry by any means necessary, and defiantly NOT wanting to allow herself to be molded into what the music industry is known to market, which also was evidenced in her loss of rights and freedoms for her own music. This dark moment in her life was the beginning of a spiritual journey that has blossomed her into the RISING STAR she is today!

The birth of Kendra’s first child, her son, helped her to begin her new journey and make the decision to “get back to her roots.” This was a spiritual journey wherein she stepped away from the music scene to address the various personal struggles she identified in her life. This journey was sparked by a serious love, a love for her son that was compounded when she gave birth to her beautiful daughter. She desired to be the example of the success she desired for her children. Developing her love for her children at the inception of her spiritual journey led her to the development, establishment, and strengthening of her love for self. This love for self brought her back to her love for music and staying true to her roots, she returned to Neo-soul/Reggae music in order to truly pour her soul into her art.
